Introduction: The Superscore Changes Everything About ACT Strategy
Most students think about the ACT as a single test with a single score. The reality is more strategic: when you understand how superscoring works — and which colleges use it — the ACT becomes a multi-attempt optimisation game where each sitting can only improve your effective score, never reduce it.
Approximately 75% of US universities superscore the ACT, meaning they combine your best English, Math, and Reading scores from any test date into a composite that is automatically stronger than any single sitting. A student who scored 28 in English on one date and 32 in Reading on another date has an effective English+Reading profile that no single sitting produced.
The Enhanced ACT (2025) changed the superscore formula — Science is no longer part of the superscore composite. This guide explains the new formula, which universities accept superscores, how the policy applies to the Ivy League, how cross-format superscoring works, and how to retake the ACT strategically to maximise your superscore for the specific universities on your list.
1. What Is an ACT Superscore? — Complete Definition
Superscore Element | Details |
Definition | Your ACT superscore is a composite score built from your highest English, Math, and Reading scores from any combination of ACT test dates — not necessarily all from a single sitting |
Who calculates it | ACT Inc. calculates your official superscore automatically in your MyACT account after you have taken the ACT on two or more dates. Colleges also calculate their own superscore from the scores you send. |
When it appears | In your MyACT account after your second ACT result is released |
Which formula applies | Enhanced ACT formula (÷3): English + Math + Reading ÷ 3. Legacy formula (÷4): English + Math + Reading + Science ÷ 4. The applicable formula depends on which format's tests you took. |
What it replaces | At colleges that accept superscores, your superscore replaces (or is used instead of) your individual single-sitting composites for admissions evaluation |
Colleges see which? | You choose which test dates to send via Score Choice. At colleges that superscore, they take the best sections from whichever dates you send. |
Is it official? | Yes — ACT's official Superscore Report can be sent directly from MyACT to colleges. This is preferred over unofficial self-reported superscores. |
Does Writing factor in? | No — ACT Writing (the optional essay) is never included in the superscore composite. It is reported separately. |
What determines which scores are used | The highest score in each section across all test dates you send. Your superscore can only go up, never down, with additional test attempts. |
The Core Strategic Insight: Because your superscore uses only the highest score from each section across all your attempts, retaking the ACT at a college that superscores carries no risk. A lower score on a second attempt in a section where you scored higher before simply does not count — only the higher score is used. This is why retaking one or two more times is often entirely rational at superscore-accepting colleges.
2. The Enhanced ACT Superscore 2025 — What Changed and Why It Matters
Change | What Happened | Impact on Students |
Science excluded from superscore | Starting April 2025 (online) and September 2025 (paper), the ACT superscore composite is calculated from English, Math, and Reading only. Science is no longer averaged into the composite. | Students who were dragged down by weak Science scores now have a higher effective superscore. Students who were boosted by strong Science scores may see a slightly lower superscore under the new formula. |
New composite formula | The Enhanced superscore uses ÷3 (three sections) rather than ÷4 (four sections) | Because fewer sections are averaged, section-score imbalances have more direct impact on the composite. A single weak section drags the composite more than before. |
Science still reported | Science scores are still reported separately and contribute to the STEM composite (Math + Science average) | Students targeting STEM programmes should still take Science — even though it doesn't affect the composite or superscore, the STEM score matters to engineering and science programmes |
Cross-format compatibility | Best section scores can come from legacy tests (before April/Sep 2025) or enhanced tests — they are combined regardless of format | A student who scored best in English on a legacy test can combine that with their best Math from an enhanced test — all dates contribute regardless of format |
When colleges applied changes | Most colleges updated their superscore policies to reflect the new formula from September 2025 onward — but verify each school's current policy | Some schools' published policies may not yet reflect the new formula. Contact admissions offices directly for the most current stance on cross-format superscoring at those schools. |
3. The Two ACT Superscore Formulas — Legacy vs Enhanced
ENHANCED ACT SUPERSCORE (April 2025 Online / September 2025 Paper and All Tests Thereafter):
Superscore = (Best English + Best Math + Best Reading from any test date) ÷ 3
Science is excluded. Score range: 1–36. Rounded to nearest whole number.
LEGACY ACT SUPERSCORE (Tests Before April 2025 Online / September 2025 Paper):
Superscore = (Best English + Best Math + Best Reading + Best Science from any test date) ÷ 4
Science is included in legacy superscore. Applies to tests taken before September 2025 (paper).
Formula Comparison | Legacy Superscore (÷4) | Enhanced Superscore (÷3) |
Sections included | English, Math, Reading, Science | English, Math, Reading only |
Science role | Averaged into composite | Not in composite; reported separately |
Impact of weak Science | Drags down superscore | No effect on superscore composite |
Impact of strong Science | Boosts superscore | No effect on superscore composite |
Who benefits most from change | Students with weak Science scores get a higher composite | Students who relied on strong Science to boost composite may see slightly lower superscore |
Cross-test mixing allowed? | N/A | YES — best English from legacy + best Math from enhanced can combine |
4. ACT Superscore Worked Examples — Two and Three Attempts
Example 1: Two-Attempt Enhanced Superscore
Date | English | Math | Reading | Science | Composite | ⭐ Used in Superscore |
Oct 2025 | 29 | 32 | 25 | 28 | 29 | Eng 29 ✗ | Math 32 ✓ | Read 25 ✗ |
Mar 2026 | 31 | 29 | 30 | 27 | 30 | Eng 31 ✓ | Math 29 ✗ | Read 30 ✓ |
SUPERSCORE | 31 (best) | 32 (best) | 30 (best) | — | 31 ⭐ | Eng | Math | Read |
Best single-date composite: 30 (March). Enhanced superscore: (31 + 32 + 30) ÷ 3 = 31. The superscore is 1 composite point higher than the best single sitting — a meaningful admissions difference.
Example 2: Three-Attempt Superscore — Maximum Optimisation
Date | English | Math | Reading | Science | Composite | ⭐ Used in Superscore |
Sep 2025 | 26 | 30 | 25 | 27 | 27 | Eng 26 ✗ | Math 30 ✓ | Read 25 ✗ |
Feb 2026 | 28 | 28 | 29 | 26 | 28 | Eng 28 ✗ | Math 28 ✗ | Read 29 ✓ |
Apr 2026 | 31 | 27 | 27 | 28 | 28 | Eng 31 ✓ | Math 27 ✗ | Read 27 ✗ |
SUPERSCORE | 31 (best) | 30 (best) | 29 (best) | — | 30 ⭐ | Eng | Math | Read |
Best single-date composite: 28 (Feb or Apr). Enhanced superscore: (31 + 30 + 29) ÷ 3 = 30. Superscore is 2 full composite points above the best single sitting. At colleges where the difference between 28 and 30 changes a student's position relative to the middle 50% range, this superscore is the difference between a match and a reach application.
The Superscore Can Only Go Up: In both examples above, the student's weakest single-date section scores have zero negative impact on their superscore. A 25 in Reading in October is irrelevant when a 30 in Reading exists from March. This is why retaking with section-focused preparation is always strategically rational at superscore-accepting colleges — the risk is zero, the upside is real.
5. Cross-Format Superscoring — Combining Legacy and Enhanced Scores
One of the most important and least-understood aspects of the 2025 ACT superscore change: section scores from legacy ACT tests (before the Enhanced ACT) can be combined with section scores from enhanced ACT tests to build a superscore.
Cross-Format Rule | Details | Implication |
Can Legacy + Enhanced scores be combined? | YES — ACT confirms that best section scores from any test event, whether legacy or enhanced format, are used in the superscore | A student whose best English was on an October 2024 legacy test can use that English score alongside their best Math from an April 2026 enhanced test |
Does the formula change? | The Enhanced formula (÷3) applies to all superscores generated after September 2025 — regardless of which format's tests contributed the scores | Even if your best English came from a legacy test, if your superscore is generated after September 2025, the ÷3 formula (excluding Science) applies |
What about legacy Science scores? | Legacy Science scores appear on your MyACT Superscore Report but are NOT included in the composite calculation under the Enhanced formula | Your superscore report will show your best Science score but the composite is calculated from English + Math + Reading only |
Can a legacy test produce a higher superscore? | Possible in some cases — if a student's best English or Math came from a legacy administration, those scores still count | Students who tested before the Enhanced ACT should not discard their legacy scores — they are still eligible for cross-format superscoring |
✅ Check Your MyACT Superscore: After any ACT result, log into your MyACT account and view your official Superscore Report. This shows your current superscore composite, which best section scores are being used, and which test dates contributed each section's best score. Use this to plan your next targeted retake.

10. Colleges That Do NOT Superscore the ACT
While approximately 75% of US universities superscore the ACT, a meaningful minority do not. At these schools, admissions uses either your highest single-date composite or your most recent composite — not a cross-date best-section combination.
Non-Superscoring Policy | What It Means | Examples (verify current policy) | Your Strategy |
Highest single-date composite | Takes the best composite from any one test date — no cross-date section combining | Some selective private universities | Prepare for a strong overall performance on a single date rather than optimising sections across dates |
Most recent score only | Uses only the composite from your most recent test date | Some universities with this stated preference | Your most recent sitting matters most — retake only when your overall preparation is strongest |
All scores averaged | Averages composites across all submitted dates | Rare; some schools with this policy | Retaking risks lowering your effective score if you do worse — prepare carefully before retaking |
Test-blind (no scores used) | SAT/ACT not considered at all | University of California system (CA residents) | ACT preparation still valuable for non-UC school applications |
⚠️ Always Verify Individually: University ACT policies are not standardised and change frequently. A university that superscored in 2024 may not in 2026. Always check the current-year admissions FAQ on each university's official website before submitting scores. The Compass Prep policy tracker (compassprep.com) is the most current aggregated source available.
11. Colleges That Require All ACT Scores
A small but important group of universities require applicants to submit ALL ACT scores from every test date — they do not allow Score Choice. At these schools, every ACT attempt is visible, though many still construct a superscore from what you submit.
School | All Scores Required? | Still Superscores? | Implication |
Harvard | YES — all ACT scores required | YES — uses highest sections from submitted dates | Every attempt is visible; no hiding a bad day — but Harvard evaluates on best sections regardless |
Yale | YES — all ACT scores required | YES — creates superscore from submitted dates | Same as Harvard — all visible, best sections used |
Georgetown | YES — all ACT scores required | YES — superscores from submitted dates | All scores visible; Georgetown is transparent about using best sections |
MIT | YES — all scores required | YES — functionally superscores | MIT reviews all attempts but focuses on best sections in holistic review |
Stanford | Score Choice accepted | YES — superscores | Stanford allows Score Choice and superscores — more flexible than Harvard/Yale |
Most other top schools | Score Choice accepted | YES (if policy says superscore) | You control which dates to send; colleges superscore from what you send |
Preparing for All-Scores Schools: If Harvard, Yale, MIT, or Georgetown are on your list, every ACT attempt will be visible — plan accordingly. Prepare thoroughly before each sitting. A student who takes the ACT 5 times with inconsistent scores (e.g., 29, 31, 29, 32, 30) sends a different message than one who takes it twice and improves cleanly (30, 33). Quality of attempts matters as much as the final superscore.
12. The Science Section — Does It Count in the Superscore?
Question | Answer | Action Required |
Does Science count in the Enhanced ACT superscore? | NO — under the Enhanced ACT (April 2025 online / September 2025 paper), Science is NOT included in the composite or superscore | Plan your test strategy accordingly — taking Science contributes to your STEM score but not your composite or superscore |
Should I still take Science? | YES — for STEM programme applicants | STEM programmes (engineering, physics, pre-med, CS) at many universities value the Science score and STEM composite. Skipping Science to save time or money can hurt STEM applicants despite the composite exclusion. |
Do any colleges still require Science? | Yes — some colleges specify they want all four sections | Check each university's specific policy. A few schools may still prefer or require all four sections — verify on each university's admissions FAQ. |
What is the STEM score? | Math + Science average (if Science is taken) — scored 1–36 | The STEM score appears separately on your score report and superscore report. It is the metric STEM-focused universities use to see your combined quantitative-science capability. |
What about legacy Science scores? | Legacy Science scores still appear on the Superscore Report but are not in the composite calculation | If you took Science on a legacy test, it is visible but excluded from the ÷3 composite. For schools that want to see Science, the score is available. |
Stanford's Science policy (confirmed) | Science is optional for Stanford — they accept both the original and enhanced ACT versions equally | Stanford explicitly stated Science is optional for their review. Other schools may vary — verify individually. |
13. How to Send Your ACT Superscore to Colleges
View Your Official Superscore in MyACT
Log into your MyACT account (act.org). After 2+ test dates, your ACT Superscore composite appears automatically in your account. Review which sections from which dates are contributing to your superscore.
Request the Official ACT Superscore Report
From MyACT, you can request that ACT send your official Superscore Report directly to colleges. This is different from sending individual test date reports — the Superscore Report shows the compiled superscore composite.
Select Which Test Dates to Include
At Score Choice schools, choose which test date reports to send. For maximum superscore potential: send all dates where you had a strong section score in any section. Each additional date with a strong section can only help the college's superscore calculation.
Apply Score Choice Strategically
At Score Choice schools: send dates where your highest section scores came from. At all-scores-required schools (Harvard, Yale, Georgetown, MIT): you must send all dates — there is no selection.
Verify University Receipt
After sending, log into each university's application portal to confirm score receipt. Processing typically takes 2–5 business days after ACT sends the report. Allow this buffer before application deadlines.
14. ACT Superscore Retake Strategy — Section-Specific Approach
Understanding that colleges use only your best section scores from any date transforms how you should approach retakes. Here is the optimised section-specific retake framework:
Identify Your Lowest Superscore Section After Attempt 1
Review your score report: which of English, Math, and Reading is your lowest score? This is your exclusive preparation focus for the next attempt. Under the Enhanced ACT, Science does not affect the superscore.
Allocate 60–70% of Retake Preparation to the Weakest Section
Don't spread preparation equally. The section you need to improve most is where your time should go. If your Math score is 26 and English is 31, Math preparation deserves the majority of your preparation hours.
Don't Worry About Maintaining Other Sections
Because superscore uses only your best, a slight decrease in English while your Math improves dramatically is perfectly acceptable. Your previous high English score is protected — only your new Math score matters for that section.
Use My Answer Key to Drive Section-Specific Preparation
If your first ACT was on an October, April, or June date, purchase My Answer Key (~$26) from MyACT. This gives you your actual test questions and answers — the most targeted preparation tool for your specific gaps.
Plan 3–4 Months Between Attempts
This gives enough time for meaningful preparation. ACT research shows the average superscore gain from a retake is 2.4 composite points. Students who prepare specifically (not generically) show much higher gains.
Your Situation | Best Superscore Retake Strategy |
Strong Math, weak English | Spend 65% of retake prep on English; ACT English grammar rules and rhetorical skills; track sub-domain progress weekly |
Strong English, weak Math | Spend 65% on Math; cover Algebra, Functions, and Statistics domains; use Desmos fluency for digital tests |
Strong Math and English, weak Reading | Spend 70% on Reading; develop a consistent passage-engagement strategy; time 4 passages in 40 minutes consistently |
All three sections moderate | Identify your lowest subscore within each section; target 2 weakest sub-domains rather than distributing equally across sections |
Already strong composite (30+), small gap to target | Identify the single section where 1–2 points is achievable; target only that section; maintain preparation on others to avoid slippage |
15. Score Choice vs Superscore — How They Work Together
Concept | What It Is | How It Interacts with Superscore |
Score Choice | ACT's policy that lets you choose which test date reports to send to colleges — you don't have to send all dates | At Score Choice schools: only the dates you send are used in the superscore calculation. Strategic Score Choice means sending all dates with high section scores — each additional date with a strong section helps the superscore. |
ACT Superscore | The composite built from best sections across submitted dates | Superscore is calculated from whatever dates you send via Score Choice. Send more relevant dates = better superscore opportunity. |
At Score Choice schools (most schools) | You control which dates are sent; schools use those submitted dates to create the superscore | Send ALL dates where you had at least one strong section score — even if that date's overall composite was low, a single strong section contributes to your superscore. |
At all-scores-required schools (Harvard, Yale, MIT, Georgetown) | You must send every ACT date regardless | No Score Choice available. All dates are seen and used in the superscore. Every attempt matters — prepare thoroughly before each sitting. |
The optimal Score Choice strategy | Send all dates with a section score at or above your target for that section | If your target Math is 33+, send any date where you scored Math 33 or above. The date's overall composite is irrelevant — only that section score counts for the superscore. |
16. How to Use the ACT Superscore Report from MyACT
Your MyACT account contains your official ACT Superscore Report — a separate report from your individual test date score reports. Here is how to read and use it:
Log into your MyACT account (act.org) after your second test date result is released
Navigate to 'Your Scores' — you will see your official Superscore composite alongside your individual test date composites
The Superscore Report shows: your superscore composite, the best section score for each section (English, Math, Reading), and which test date each best section came from
If you took Science: your best Science score appears on the Superscore Report but is NOT in the composite calculation under the Enhanced formula
You can send the official ACT Superscore Report directly to colleges — this is the preferred submission method as it is official and tamper-proof
Your STEM score (Math + Science average) also appears if you took Science — this is the relevant metric for engineering and science programme admissions beyond the superscore composite
✅ Send the Official Superscore Report, Not Just Individual Test Reports: When requesting score sends for colleges that superscore, request the ACT Superscore Report specifically. This is the most informative and most credible document for admissions offices that use superscores — it clearly shows the compiled best-section composite rather than requiring the admissions office to manually calculate it from multiple test date reports.
17. ACT Superscore for Indian and International Students
Element | Details for International Students |
Same superscore rules apply | International students receive exactly the same ACT superscore as US students — the same Enhanced formula (÷3), the same MyACT Superscore Report, and the same college submission process |
Score Choice for international students | Same Score Choice policies apply — international students control which test date reports they send to Score Choice schools |
MyACT superscore calculation | Available in MyACT account after 2+ test dates regardless of where the tests were taken — same process as US students |
All-scores-required schools | Harvard, Yale, MIT, Georgetown require all ACT scores for international students, just as for US students — no exceptions |
India-specific timing note | For Indian students, the most important retake dates for superscore building are September and October of Class 12 — scores from these dates release before ED/EA deadlines. Register for both dates well in advance (Indian test centres fill quickly). |
Section-specific retake value for CBSE students | CBSE students often have a strong Math base — the most common retake focus is English and Reading, where ACT question formats differ most from CBSE board preparation. A targeted English/Reading retake frequently produces the largest superscore gains for Indian students. |
STEM score for India applicants | Indian students applying to STEM programmes (engineering, CS, pre-med) at US universities should take Science to generate a STEM score — this separate metric is valued by many top STEM programmes even though Science is excluded from the superscore composite. |
18. ACT Superscore vs SAT Superscore — Key Differences
Element | ACT Superscore | SAT Superscore |
Formula | Best English + Math + Reading ÷ 3 (Enhanced; Sep 2025+) | Best R&W + Best Math (from any test date) |
Number of sections in superscore | 3 sections (English, Math, Reading) | 2 sections (R&W and Math) |
Excluded optional sections | Science (optional); Writing (optional) | No additional sections to exclude — SAT has 2 sections only |
Auto-calculated | Yes — appears in MyACT after 2+ test dates | Yes — appears in College Board account after 2+ test dates |
Acceptance rate among colleges | ~75% of US universities | ~90% of US universities — slightly higher than ACT |
Sending official report | ACT Superscore Report sent from MyACT | College Board sends scores; each test date report includes all section scores; colleges construct superscore from what you send |
Cross-format mixing | YES — legacy and enhanced section scores can combine | YES — paper and digital SAT scores can combine in superscore |
All-scores-required schools | Harvard, Yale, MIT, Georgetown (and some others) for both | Same schools typically require all scores for both SAT and ACT |

What is an ACT superscore?
An ACT superscore is a composite score built from your best English, Math, and Reading scores from any combination of ACT test dates. Under the Enhanced ACT formula (April 2025 online / September 2025 paper), the superscore is calculated as (best English + best Math + best Reading from any date) ÷ 3. Science is no longer included in the superscore composite — it is reported separately. ACT automatically calculates your official superscore in your MyACT account after you have taken the ACT on two or more dates.
How has the ACT superscore changed in 2025?
The Enhanced ACT (April 2025 for online tests; September 2025 for paper tests) changed the superscore formula in two significant ways: (1) Science is no longer included in the composite or superscore calculation — it is now optional and reported separately. (2) The formula changed from ÷4 (four sections) to ÷3 (three sections). Additionally, scores from legacy tests (before the Enhanced format) can still be combined with Enhanced test scores — a student's best English from a 2024 legacy test can combine with their best Math from a 2025 enhanced test in the superscore.
Which colleges accept the ACT superscore?
Approximately 75% of US universities accept and use the ACT superscore. This includes the majority of the Ivy League (Brown, Columbia, Cornell, Dartmouth, Penn, Yale, Harvard, Princeton), MIT, Caltech, Stanford, Duke, Northwestern, Vanderbilt, Carnegie Mellon, Georgetown, and most major state universities. Harvard and Yale accept the superscore but require all ACT scores to be submitted. A small minority of universities do not superscore — always verify each school's specific policy at their official admissions website before deciding which scores to send.
Does Science count in the ACT superscore?
No — under the Enhanced ACT formula (September 2025 for paper tests; April 2025 for online tests), Science is excluded from the superscore composite. Science is now optional and is reported separately. If you take Science, it contributes to your STEM score (Math + Science average) but not to the superscore composite. STEM programme applicants at engineering and science schools should still consider taking Science, as the STEM score is valued by many top STEM programmes.
Do all Ivy League schools accept the ACT superscore?
Six of the eight Ivy League schools accept the ACT superscore: Brown, Columbia, Cornell, Dartmouth, Penn, and Yale. Harvard and Princeton also use best section scores across submitted dates — functionally equivalent to superscoring. All eight Ivies effectively evaluate ACT scores based on best sections across submitted dates. However, Harvard, Yale, and Georgetown require applicants to submit ALL ACT scores from every date — they cannot use Score Choice to withhold lower test dates, though they still use best sections from what is submitted.
How do I send my ACT superscore to colleges?
Log into your MyACT account at act.org. After 2+ test dates, request that ACT send your official Superscore Report directly to your target colleges. This official report shows your superscore composite and which section scores from which dates contributed. At Score Choice schools, also decide which individual test date reports to send — send all dates where you had a strong section score in any section, as each additional date can only help the college's superscore calculation. At all-scores-required schools (Harvard, Yale, MIT, Georgetown), send all test date reports.
Can my ACT superscore be lower than my best single-date composite?
No — by definition, your ACT superscore is always equal to or higher than your best single-date composite. The superscore uses only your best performance in each section from any date. The only way the superscore could appear 'lower' would be if a college is comparing your Enhanced-formula superscore (÷3 sections) to a Legacy-formula composite (÷4 sections) where a strong Science score boosted the old composite. Under the current Enhanced formula, any student's superscore is always their best possible composite from their available scores.
Should I send all my ACT dates or just the best one?
At Score Choice schools that superscore: send all dates where you had at least one strong section score. Each additional date with a high section score can only improve the superscore — even if that date's overall composite was lower than another. At Score Choice schools that do not superscore: send only your best single-date composite. At all-scores-required schools (Harvard, Yale, MIT, Georgetown): you must send all dates — no choice is available.
How many times should I retake the ACT to maximise my superscore?
ACT research shows an average superscore gain of 2.4 composite points on the first retake. After three attempts, average gains fall below 0.5 points per attempt. The sweet spot for most students is 2–3 total attempts. Plan your first ACT as a serious attempt (not a trial), then retake 1–2 times targeting your weakest section. Allow 3–4 months between attempts for meaningful section-specific improvement. Beyond three attempts without meaningful section-level improvement, diminishing returns set in strongly.
Does Writing (the ACT essay) count in the superscore?
No — ACT Writing (the optional essay) is never included in the superscore composite. It is scored separately on a 2–12 scale and reported independently. The superscore composite is built exclusively from English, Math, and Reading (under the Enhanced formula). Writing is only relevant if specific universities or programmes require it — always check each school's requirement directly, as many programmes no longer require or even accept Writing scores.
Can I mix scores from the old ACT and the new Enhanced ACT in my superscore?
Yes — this is one of the most important features of the 2025 superscore change. ACT explicitly confirmed that best section scores from any test event — whether legacy (before April/September 2025) or Enhanced — can be combined in the superscore. A student who scored their best English on a 2024 legacy test and their best Math on a 2025 enhanced test would see both scores used in the superscore. However, the Enhanced formula (÷3, excluding Science) applies to all superscores generated after September 2025, regardless of which format contributed the sections.
What should STEM applicants know about the ACT superscore and Science?
STEM applicants should still take the optional Science section even though it is excluded from the superscore composite. Reasons: (1) The STEM score (Math + Science average) is visible to admissions offices and valued by many engineering and science programmes. (2) Some universities may still specify that they want to see all four ACT sections. (3) A strong Science score contributes to your STEM composite — a separate credential that signals quantitative-scientific reasoning ability. For Indian CBSE students, the CBSE Physics and Chemistry background typically provides a solid foundation for ACT Science preparation.
20. EduShaale — Expert ACT Coaching
EduShaale helps students build the strongest possible ACT superscore through strategic section-specific preparation and smart retake planning.
Superscore-First Retake Planning: We start every retake plan from a student's current superscore — not their single-date composite. We identify which section, if improved, produces the most superscore gain per preparation hour.
Enhanced ACT Formula Preparation: Our ACT coaching is built around the current Enhanced ACT format — three-section composite, Science optional, updated question counts and timing. Students who prepare from pre-2025 materials train for an outdated format.
Section-Specific Coaching: For retake students, we identify the single section where the most superscore gain is available and allocate 60–70% of preparation time there — using official My Answer Key data where available.
College Policy Research: We track each university's ACT superscore policy for every student's shortlist — identifying whether Score Choice is available, whether all scores are required, and how the superscore is used in admissions.
India-Specific Retake Navigation: We help Indian students time their retakes around CBSE boards and application deadlines, register at the right Indian test centres, and plan section-specific preparation that builds on their CBSE foundation.
Score Sending Strategy: We advise exactly which test date reports to send to each university to maximise their superscore calculation — particularly important at Score Choice schools where strategic date selection amplifies superscore outcomes.

EduShaale's belief: The ACT superscore is not luck — it is a planned outcome. With the Enhanced formula, three well-timed retakes with deliberate section improvement produce a superscore 2–4 points above any single sitting. That gap is the difference between a reach and a match at a Top 30 university.
