EduShaale (“EduShaale”, “we”, “us” or “our”) is a study-abroad exam-preparation institute based in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India, providing personalised online coaching for the Digital SAT, ACT, PSAT and Advanced Placement (AP) examinations to students in India and across the world.
 

We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting the personal data you entrust to us. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, how we use and safeguard it, and the rights and choices available to you. It applies to our website at www.edushaale.com, our learning platform, our mock-test portal, and every related class, demo, communication and service (together, the “Services”).
 

For the purposes of India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (the “DPDP Act”), EduShaale acts as the Data Fiduciary that determines the purpose and means of processing your personal data. Where the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”) applies, we act as the data controller. Please read this policy carefully — by using our Services, you confirm you have read and understood it.

This policy applies to everyone who interacts with EduShaale, including:
 

• Prospective students and parents who book a free demo, fill in an enquiry form, or contact us by phone, email or WhatsApp.

• Enrolled students attending live classes, using our learning platform, or taking mock tests.

• Parents and guardians of minors, who provide consent and receive progress updates.

• Website visitors who browse our pages, read our blog, or subscribe to updates.
   

Because our students are based in many countries, we have designed this policy to meet the standards of the DPDP Act (India), the GDPR (EU/UK), the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the CPRA (“CCPA”), and applicable children’s privacy laws. Where a specific law gives you greater rights, those rights apply to you.

Personal Data

Any information that relates to an identified or identifiable individual — for example, a name, email address, phone number or test score linked to a student.
 

Sensitive / Special-Category Data

Data needing extra protection, such as information about a learning disability or accessibility need that you choose to share so we can support you.
 

Data Principal / Data Subject

The individual the personal data is about — in most cases, the student or the parent.
 

Processing

Any operation performed on personal data — collecting, storing, using, analysing, sharing, or deleting it.

We collect only the data we need to deliver and improve our coaching. The categories below describe what we may collect across the Services.
 

a. Information you give us

—Identity & contact: student and parent name, email address, phone/WhatsApp number, city and country.

—Academic profile: current grade, school, target exams, intended universities and countries, target scores, and prior test results you share.

—Enquiry content: messages, questions and preferences you send through forms, email, calls or WhatsApp.

—Billing details: information required to process payments (handled by our payment partners — we do not store full card numbers).

—Accessibility needs: any accommodation you voluntarily disclose so we can teach you effectively.
 

b. Information from your use of the Services

• Learning activity: class attendance, assignments, doubt-clearing history, and progress on our platform.

• Assessment data: mock-test answers, section scores, timing, and performance analytics.

• Session recordings: recordings of live online classes (see section 9).
   

c. Information collected automatically

—Device & usage: IP address, browser type, device identifiers, pages viewed, referring links, and approximate location.

—Cookies & similar technologies: as described in section 10.

We obtain your information through the following channels:
 

• —Demo-booking and enquiry forms on our website and landing pages.

• —WhatsApp, phone calls and email when you reach out to our counsellors.

• —Account creation and activity on our learning platform and mock-test portal.

• —Cookies, analytics tools and advertising pixels when you browse our site.

• —Social media and advertising platforms where you respond to our campaigns.

We use your personal data for the following purposes:
 

• —To schedule and deliver demo classes, live coaching, mock tests and counselling.

• —To build personalised study plans and track each student’s progress.

• —To generate performance analytics and recommend focus areas (see section 8).

• —To respond to enquiries and provide student and parent support.

• —To process payments and maintain accurate billing records.

• —To send service updates, schedules and, where permitted, promotional content you can opt out of.

• —To improve our website, content and teaching methods.

• —To maintain security, prevent fraud, and comply with legal obligations.

Where the DPDP Act or GDPR applies, we rely on one or more of the following lawful bases:
 

• —Consent — which you give freely when you enquire, enrol or subscribe, and which you can withdraw at any time. For minors, consent is given by a parent or guardian.

• —Performance of a contract — to provide the coaching and services you have signed up for.

• —Legitimate interests — to run, secure and improve our business, balanced against your rights.

• —Legal obligation — to comply with tax, accounting and other applicable laws.

We use analytics — including AI-assisted tools — to make your preparation more effective. These tools analyse your mock-test results and platform activity to predict likely scores, highlight weak areas, and recommend the next topics to study.

These insights are designed to support our mentors, not to replace them. We do not make decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects about you based on automated processing alone — a human educator always reviews recommendations before they shape your study plan.

We do not use your personal data, test responses or class recordings to train third-party generative-AI models, and we contractually require our vendors not to do so without your explicit consent. Where you have rights to object to automated processing under the GDPR or DPDP Act, you may contact our Grievance Officer (section 19).

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep the site working, remember your preferences, understand traffic, and measure the performance of our campaigns. The main categories are:

• —Strictly necessary — required for core functions such as security and form submission; these cannot be switched off.

• —Analytics — help us see how visitors use the site so we can improve it.

• —Marketing — used to show relevant ads and measure their effectiveness.
  
  Where required by law, we ask for your consent before setting non-essential cookies, and you can change your choices at any time through our cookie banner or your browser settings. Disabling some cookies may affect how parts of the site work.

We do not sell or rent your personal data. We share it only in these limited circumstances:

• —Service providers (processors): trusted vendors who host our platform, run video classes, send messages, process payments or provide analytics — bound by contract to protect your data and use it only for us.

• —Parents and guardians: progress reports and account information shared with the parent of a minor student.

• —Legal and regulatory authorities: where disclosure is required by law, court order, or to protect our rights and the safety of others.

• —Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition or reorganisation, subject to this policy.

Please note that registering for and sitting the actual SAT, ACT, AP or PSAT exams is handled directly by the College Board, ACT, Inc. and their testing platforms (such as Bluebook) — we are not affiliated with them, and their handling of your data is governed by their own privacy policies.

EduShaale serves students across India, the UAE, Singapore, the United States, the United Kingdom and beyond. Some of our service providers store or process data in countries other than your own.

When we transfer personal data across borders, we take steps to ensure it remains protected — for example, by working with providers that offer appropriate safeguards and, where required, by using recognised transfer mechanisms such as the GDPR’s Standard Contractual Clauses. Transfers are made in accordance with the DPDP Act and other applicable laws.

We keep personal data only for as long as it is needed for the purposes set out in this policy, or as required by law. As a general guide:

• —Enquiry / demo leads that do not enrol: retained for up to 24 months, then deleted or anonymised.

• —Enrolled-student records (progress, analytics): retained for the duration of the programme and a reasonable period afterwards for support and references.

• —Class recordings: retained for a limited revision window, then deleted.

• —Billing & tax records: retained for the period required by Indian financial law.

When data is no longer needed, we securely delete or irreversibly anonymise it.
