This guide walks through the whole platform — every field, every screen, what's free and what needs a subscription — so you know exactly what you're getting before you start a timer you can't pause.
What Is the EduShaale PSAT Practice Test Online Platform?
A browser-based practice platform covering PSAT/NMSQT, PSAT 10, and PSAT 8/9, built to match the real digital PSAT's format: timed modules, one question at a time, adaptive difficulty between modules, and a results screen built around the same domain breakdown the real exam reports on. No login required — just a name, and your progress saves in that browser. It's not an official College Board product, and says so on its own results screen.
Which PSAT Exam Should You Choose?
All three exams are published by the College Board and measure the same skills, but they're not interchangeable — you take the one tied to your grade and purpose, not the one that sounds easiest.
PSAT/NMSQT | PSAT 10 | PSAT 8/9 | |
Typically taken by | 11th graders (some 10th) | 10th graders, in spring | 8th and 9th graders |
Purpose | Qualifying test for the National Merit Scholarship Program | Practice run on the same test as the NMSQT | Early baseline to track progress through high school |
Counts for National Merit? | Yes | No | No |
Score range (verified against College Board) | 320–1520 (160–760 per section) | 320–1520 (160–760 per section) | 240–1440 (120–720 per section) |
The College Board describes PSAT 10 as content-identical to the PSAT/NMSQT — same difficulty, same score scale — just given at a different time of year and not counted toward National Merit. PSAT 8/9 is scaled down for younger students, which is why its score range is lower. None of the three is "better" — the right one is whichever matches your current grade and what you're actually registered to take.
Free PSAT Practice Test vs. Subscription Access

Here's exactly what's free and what isn't:
Exam | Free access | Subscription access | Total |
PSAT/NMSQT | Practice Test 1 | Tests 2–5 | 5 |
PSAT 10 | None | Tests 1–5 | 5 |
PSAT 8/9 | None | Tests 1–5 | 5 |
Total | 1 test | 14 tests | 15 tests |
The free PSAT/NMSQT test is a genuine full practice test — 98 questions, full timing, full scoring — not a shortened preview. Every other test, across all three exam types, is reachable from an "Unlock with Subscription" button for ₹1,999 for one month, which opens the full access details before asking you to pay anything.

You can fully evaluate the platform — the interface, the timing, the question style, the results screen — using only the free test, before deciding whether a subscription is worth it for the other 14. When you're ready, subscribing happens through EduShaale's Pricing & Plans page.
How to Use the EduShaale PSAT Digital Exam Simulator — Step by Step

Choose your exam. From the landing page, pick PSAT/NMSQT, PSAT 10, or PSAT 8/9. This determines which practice tests you'll see next — the three exams aren't mixed together.
Select a practice test. Each exam shows five tests. The free one is clearly badged "DEMO." Locked tests show "Unlock with Subscription" rather than a vague "Locked" label — clicking one opens the subscription details directly, so you're never guessing what a button does. Tip: if you're not ready to subscribe yet, stick to the free demo first — there's no trial period on the others.
Read the instructions. Before the timer starts, you'll see the test's format (98 questions, 134 minutes, Reading & Writing + Math, adaptive modules) and the exam rules: one question at a time, mark-for-review, no returning to a submitted module, auto-submit when time runs out. Common mistake: skimming past this — "you cannot return to a completed module" catches people who assume they can go back and fix an answer.

Enter your name and begin. A single text field, no account, no email. Click "Begin Practice Test," then start the Reading & Writing section.
Work through each module. One question at a time, with a visible countdown timer, a "Mark for Review" toggle, and Previous/Next navigation within the current module only.

6. Submit each module when you're done (or time runs out). You'll see a confirmation — answered/unanswered/marked counts — before it locks. Common mistake: submitting early because you think you're done, without checking for unanswered questions the summary would have caught.
7. Let the adaptive routing work. Between modules, a short transition screen explains that your next module's difficulty is based on how you did on the first — and says plainly that this is EduShaale's own routing, not the College Board's adaptive algorithm.

8. Finish Math the same way, then review your results. Two Reading & Writing modules (54 questions) and two Math modules (44 questions) — 98 total — then your results screen loads automatically. [CONFIRM FROM TOOL]: whether answer explanations are shown on-screen after the free test, or only in the subscription tier — I didn't find them rendered in the free demo flow itself.
Understanding Your Results
This is the most detailed part of the platform, and it's worth knowing what's actually in it before you finish your first test.

The results screen shows an EduShaale Practice Performance Estimate (composite + section scores, as a range), accuracy, performance across all 8 official PSAT domains, a difficulty breakdown, time-per-question, and a short next-steps list built from your weakest domains. Every score is labeled, twice, as a practice estimate — not an official College Board score.
